About Us

Highway Care, formed in 1976 by Chairman John Talbot, started out as specialists in motorway and trunk road weed control and mobile traffic management. In 1990 the Company expanded into supplying specialist road safety products and services for use on motorways, high speed trunk roads and lower speed municipal roads. Highway Care offers high quality products and professional service to its customers that include Government Agencies and its affiliates, becoming one of the leading UK suppliers of specialist road safety products within the road safety industry.

Through the relationship with strategic partners and understanding the requirements of the road safety market, Highway Care is committed to developing and introducing a range of innovative safety products designed to increase safety and reduce costs. All products offered are of the highest quality and meet all appropriate testing and approval standards (UK and International) as required.

In 2000 Highway Care developed BarrierGuard 800 steel barrier as a portable vehicle restraint system.  BarrierGuard 800 has proven to offer significant benefits compared with Temporary Vertical Concrete Barrier (TVCB) that has mainly been used on the highway to protect road workers.  BarrierGuard 800 offers the market a high containment steel safety barrier that can be rapidly deployed.  Highway Care now exports and distributes BarrierGuard 800 to several countries worldwide, and continues to expand into new territories.

Product lines include:

  • BarrierGuard 800 portable steel barrier for use at road construction zones
  • BarrierGuard 800 permanent steel barrier for use on bridges, light-weight structures and situations where durable barrier is required
  • BarrierGuard ancillary products (gates) for use at maintenance and cross over points within roads and road construction zones
  • BarrierGuard MDS (minimum deflection system) for use in situations where very high containment is required
  • EasyGuard portable plastic barrier for use at work zones
